  • Substitute Teaching Positions

Description

The Evergreen School, an independent school serving highly capable students in preschool through 8th grade, is looking for both teachers and assistant teachers to add to our substitute list.

Certification for teacher substitutes is preferred. We are also looking for specialist subject substitutes for Chinese, Spanish, French, PE, music and art. Candidates should have availability to be called the night before or morning of a need for a substitute.

Working Hours: Substitutes work on an as-needed basis Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a position with variable daily work schedules; substitutes can work 1 to 5 days per week.

Wage Rate: Substitute teachers and teaching assistants are paid at an hourly rate of $25 per hour. They are required to complete and submit timesheets. Wages are paid monthly on the last banking day of each month.

Benefits: Because the position is variable part-time, with the exception of WA State Paid Sick Leave, this position is not eligible for benefits. WA State Paid Sick Leave accrues at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked beginning on the first work day.

Physical Requirements: Substitutes may be required to work outside in the weather, escorting children and supervising on the playground. The position requires applicants to walk, jump, lift up to 20 pounds, climb stairs, bend and squat.
