    The Opportunity
    Evergreen is seeking an engaging and compassionate educator to join our Upper Division (grades 4-8) team. We are looking for someone with a passion for working with highly capable students. The teacher in this role (for grade 4 or 5) is responsible for teaching a variety of core classes, including language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science using a wide range of instructional tools and resources. The successful candidate will have a collaborative approach to teaching an engaging and challenging program to highly capable students with individual learning styles and needs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement curriculum and activities for students at varying levels of progress at the grade 4 or 5 level. This includes working individually and within teacher teams to create scope and sequence plans, unit plans and lesson plans, identifying and selecting instructional resources and methods to meet students’ needs and preparing the classroom for activities.
    • Regularly assess students’ progress by observing and evaluating performance and development, assigning and grading classwork, homework, tests and assignments and providing appropriate feedback to students, their parents and colleagues.
    • Consistently communicate and document clear objectives for all learning activities to maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development in compliance with laws, school policies and independent school regulations and accreditation standards.
    • Establish and enforce school rules for students with a positive style and strong classroom management skills.
    • Attend school, department, team and parent meetings.
    • Participate in certain extra-curricular events, such as social and sporting activities, admission events, clubs, overnight camps and student group activities.
    • Maintain knowledge of and competency in relevant classroom technology, as well as passion for recent developments in teaching resources and methods with the flexibility to incorporate changes into instructional plans and activities.
    • Be strictly vigilant about student health and safety.

    Position Details

The salary range for an Evergreen School teacher is $69,788 to $123,232 per year, depending on degree(s) and years of experience.

The Grades 1-4 PE teacher is responsible for teaching physical education to students in grades 1-4 using a wide range of instructional tools and resources to drive physical health and fitness, fine and gross motor skill development and collaborative cooperation and teamwork.

    The Opportunity
    The Evergreen School seeks applicants to support our after-school child care program for preschool to 8th grade students.  

    Working hours
    : Monday to Friday, from 2:30-6:00 p.m.   Because the position is part-time and less than 25 hours per week, this is a .4375 FTE role.

    Wage rate
    : The wage is $23.75 per hour. This is an hourly, non-exempt position and Extended Day Childcare Providers are required to keep and submit a timesheet. Wages are paid monthly on the last banking day of each month.

    The Evergreen School, an independent school serving highly capable students in preschool through 8th grade, is looking for both teachers and assistant teachers to add to our substitute list.

    Certification for teacher substitutes is preferred. We are also looking for specialist subject substitutes for Chinese, Spanish, French, PE, music and art. Candidates should have availability to be called the night before or morning of a need for a substitute.

    Working Hours: Substitutes work on an as-needed basis Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a position with variable daily work schedules; substitutes can work 1 to 5 days per week. 

    Wage Rate: Substitute teachers and teaching assistants are paid at an hourly rate of $25 per hour. They are required to complete and submit timesheets. Wages are paid monthly on the last banking day of each month.
