Since Associate Head of School Alan Phan arrived at Evergreen in the fall of 2023, one of his main points of focus has been working to document our curriculum. Last year, faculty launched into the process, and this year, they're continuing but now with the help of Atlas, our new curriculum management system.

The Atlas system allows us to house our entire curriculum, from preschool through 8th grade, in a systematic way. For teachers, it will help provide consistency in lesson planning at each grade level, ensuring students have a similar experience within a grade while also allowing individual faculty to have autonomy and be creative in the way they deliver their lessons. At an administrative level, we'll be able to run reports and analyze redundancies and gaps within and across grade levels.

And for families, this will offer much more of a sense of the full scale of the Evergreen curriculum than ever before. In just two months, teachers have written up and uploaded 112 units into Atlas! Once the entire curriculum is in the system, we'll have a public view available, offering more insight into the Evergreen student experience, from preschool through middle school.
