Willy Wonka JR at The Summer Program!
August 5th, 2024
Another fantastic performance by the Evergreen Summer Theater program is on the books! After a packed two weeks of prep by student actors, set builders, lighting designers, costumers, and more, students performed Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR for audiences of other students and family members on Friday evening. With just two weeks to prepare a musical, this scrumdidilyumptious performance showed impressive work! Big props to everyone involved, especially our summer theater program teaching artists and staff.
The Evergreen Summer Program offers weekly camps all summer, including sports, visual arts and writing, math, D&D, chess and more, but performing arts has long been one of our specialties. We have a roster of great local theater and music professionals who return year after year to work with our students and faculty. And aside from learning about performing, theater camps are a great place to learn all sorts of key skills, from collaboration and giving and receiving feedback to speaking in a strong clear voice.
Every summer, it's a treat to sit back, appreciate their work, and enjoy the show!
