Big reveal! The 8th graders have learned that the destination of their capstone Global Studies trip next May will be ... Vietnam! But they weren't simply told the location. Instead, they were divided into groups and all took part in a frenzied scavenger hunt all over campus, finishing up with a single letter each, which they had to work together to arrange into correct order, finally spelling out the trip destination!

The Global Studies Program is a pillar of experiential learning at Evergreen, and this will be the first time since 2019 that the class can travel abroad. Evergreen strove to plan rewarding alternative experiences during these pandemic years, but the international destinations that usually characterize the trip allow unmatched opportunities for global awareness and the development of student agency.
